The number of Americans who first applied for unemployment benefits, rose last week by 7000, getting to 282 000, said the report of US Department of Labor.

On the last week, there were filed 275 thousand applications, not 274 thousand, as previously reported.

Analysts surveyed by Bloomberg, expected to reduce the number of applications with 4000 from the previously specified level - up to 270 thousand.

Meanwhile, the number of initial claims does not exceed the key level of 300 thousand for 12 weeks in a row. Such a low number of layoffs suggest that CEOs expect at least to maintain demand for their goods and services. As soon as the situation on the labor market is more consistent with the definition of "full employment," according to the Federal Reserve appreciation, some experts expect strong growth of wages in the country, because the employees will seek to retain employers and attract new ones.

"On the labor market there has come an optimal period of stable employment, - noted the economist of Evercore ISI, Stan Shipley. At the moment companies do not lay off workers, and soon they will have to increase salaries to retain valuable employers and lead new competitors."

The average number of applications over the past four weeks has a less volatile measure; it rose 271.5 thousand, getting o 266.5 thousand. The index of the last week was the minimum for 15 years.

Meanwhile, the number of Americans continuing to receive unemployment benefit for the week ended May 16 rose by 11 thousand, from 2.211 million to 2.222 million people.

Experts expected it to reduce with 11 thousand from the previous week level, - up to 2.2 million.
