BMW has denied accusations of a cartel conspiracy. "The cars of the BMW Group are not involved in manipulation and comply with the current requirements of legislation, this also applies to diesel cars," - said on Sunday a representative of the auto concern BMW.

In this way, BMW responded to accusations of a cartel conspiracy, voiced earlier by the publication Der Spiegel, notes "Deutsche Welle". As reported, the representatives of Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, BMW and Daimler met regularly with each other and jointly decided to reduce the capacity with the AdBlue liquid reagent used to purify the exhaust gases of diesel engines. It was this decision, according to Der Spiegel, that triggered the manipulation of exhaust gases.

BMW does not dispute the fact of the meetings. However, from the point of view of the Bavarian automaker, they served the necessary task of creating an appropriate infrastructure for the use of AdBlue. At the same time, according to BMW, the technology used by the auto concern for cleaning exhausts differs significantly from that of its competitors, which makes it possible to achieve the statutory indicators without any manipulation.

On July 21, Der Spiegel wrote that the five major automakers in Germany may have entered into a cartel conspiracy. According to information provided to Volkswagen by the supervisory authorities, from the early 90s, the representatives of Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, BMW and Daimler met regularly with each other.

Over 200 specialists participated in these meetings, organized in more than 60 working groups. Thus, German automakers replaced market competition mechanisms with secret agreements.

The German stock market ended the Monday session lower amid negative dynamics from the retail, transport and logistics, and technology sectors.

At the close of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, DAX 30 fell 0.25% to a 3-month low, MDAX index fell 0.12%, and TecDAX index fell 0.74%.
