According to the report, prepared by Statistics of Canada, the rate (seasonally adjusted) was 1.6% compared with 1.0% in the previous month. These data were revised downward from 1.1%. Experts expected a decline in the past month to 0.5%.

Retail sales excluding autos in the last month decreased by 1.16 and amounted to 32.2 billion Canadian dollars. Experts forecast a decline of 0.7%. In annual terms, sales excluding cars rose 0.7%.
