European stocks fell under pressure from security threats

On Wednesday, European stocks went down, as security threats since the Paris attacks continued to weigh on market sentiment.

During European morning trade, STOXX EURO 50 eased 0.59%, France's CAC 40 lost 0.82%, while the German DAX 30 fell 0.45%.

The attackers killed more than 130 people in Paris on Friday, triggering retaliatory French air strikes on the Islamic state positions in Syria.

On Wednesday morning, police confirmed the elimination of three terrorists during the ongoing raid on Saint-Denis in Paris.

In addition, Air France has announced the safe landing of two flights in Paris after it had received anonymous threats.

Air France shares fell 0.99% following the news.

The financial sector generally increased as the French lender Societe Generale (PA: SOGN) rose 0.23%, while German Deutsche Bank (DE: DBKGn) and Commerzbank (DE: CBKG) added 0.24% and 0 29%.

Among the peripheral lenders, the Italian Intesa Sanpaolo (MI: ISP) and Unicredit (MI: CRDI) lost 0.25% and 1.16%, while the Spanish Banco Santander (MC: SAN) and BBVA (MC: BBVA) weakened 0.06% and 0.14%.

Shares of Air Liquide (PA: AIRP) SA tumbled 4.89% after the agreement to buy US rival Airgas Inc (N: ARG).

Shares of Syngenta AG (VX: SYNN) climbed 1.87% after the operating officer of Monsanto (N: MON) Co. said that his company is considering another attempt to buy the world's largest producer of pesticides.

London's FTSE 100 fell 0.39%, under the pressure of losses in mining sector.

Stocks of Fresnillo (L: FRES) lost 0.15%, the Bhp Billiton shares (L: BLT) eased 1.49%, while shares of Anglo American (L: AAL) fell 1.89%, and shares of Glencore (L: GLEN) tumbled 2.37%.

Shares of Lloyds Banking (L: LLOY) dropped by 0.05%, shares of Barclays (L: BARC) fell 0.31%, while shares of HSBC Holdings (L: HSBA) gained 0.11%, and shares of Royal Bank of Scotland (L: RBS) rose 0.48%.

In the US, equity markets pointed to a decline in anticipation of opening. Futures of Dow Jones Industrial Average showed a 0.13% decline, futures of S&P 500 fell 0.15%, while Nasdaq 100 futures reported a reduction of 0.19%
