France's stock market closed trading on Thursday lower because of negative dynamics from the banking, manufacturers of beverages and foodstuffs and medicines sectors.
At the close of the Paris stock exchange, CAC 40 fell 4.05%, reaching a 52-week low, and SBF 120 index dropped 3.92%.
The leaders of growth among CAC 40 index components were the shares of Publicis Groupe (PA: PUBP), which rose 0.93 p. (1.76%), to 53.65. Quotes of Danone SA (PA: DANO) fell 1.19 p. (2.01%), ending trading at 58.14. Shares of Sanofi SA (PA: SASY) fell 1.44 p. (2.10%), to 67.27.
Leaders of falling were shares of Societe Generale (PA: SOGN), the price of which has fallen by 3.95 p. (12.57%), ending the session at around 27.47. Shares of Axa SA (PA: AXAF) rose 1.42 p. (6.97%) to 18.89, and ArcelorMittal SA (AS: ISPA) decreased in price by 0.19 p. (6.82. %) to 2.62.
The leaders of growth among SBF 120 index components were the shares of CGG Veritas (PA: GEPH), which rose 6.38% to reach 0.50, Genfit SA (PA: GNFT), which gained 6.01% to 27.500, as well as shares of Natixis (PA: CNAT), which rose by 5.56%, ending the session at around 4.329.
Leaders of falling were shares of Korian Medica SA (PA: KORI), which fell in price by 14.66%, closing at 24.620. Shares of Societe Generale (PA: SOGN) lost 12.57% and closed the session at 27.47, and quotes of Rexel (PA: RXL) decreased in value by 10.89% to reach 8.76.
At the Paris stock exchange the number of cheapened securities (633) exceeded the number closed in higher (74), and quotes of 75 shares remained virtually unchanged.
The volatility index VIX CAC 40, which is based on options trading indicators on CAC 40, rose 19.67% to reach 39.27, reaching a fresh 3-year high.
Meanwhile, EUR/USD pair rose 0.53% to 1.1352, and EUR/GBP rose 1.05%, reaching 0.7856.
USD index dropped 0.41% to 95.45.
