French stock market closed higher; CAC 40 added 0.80%

The French stock market closed Friday session higher due to the strengthening of the oil and gas, materials and technologies sectors.

At the close of the Paris stock exchange, CAC 40 rose 0.80%, and SBF 120 index rose 0.73%.

The leaders of growth among the CAC 40 index components were the shares of Cap Gemini SA (PA: CAPP), which rose 2.31 p (2.70%), closing at 87.88. Quotes of ArcelorMittal SA (AS: ISPA) increased by 0.149 p (2.67%), ending trading at 5.722. Shares of Total SA (PA: TOTF) rose 0.84 p (1.97%), closing at 43.42.

Leaders of falling were shares of Vivendi SA (PA: VIV), the price of which has fallen by 0.31 p (1.73%), to 17.28. Shares of Unibail Rodamco SE (AS: UNBP) fell 0.89 p (0.36%) to close at 244.96, while Klepierre (PA: LOIM) decreased in price by 0.11 p (0.26. %) and finished trading at around 42.20.

The leaders of growth among the SBF 120 index components were the shares of Gemalto (AS: GTO) components, which rose 6.51% to 62.00, Etablissements Maurel et Prom SA (PA: MAUP), which scored 2.98 %, to close at 4,150, as well as shares of Cap Gemini SA (PA: CAPP), which rose 2.70%, ending the session at around 87.88.

Leaders of falling were the shares of Genfit SA (PA: GNFT), which fell in price by 2.08%, closing at 24.720. Shares of Vivendi SA (PA: VIV) lost 1.73% and finished the session at 17.28 and quotes of Elis Services SA (PA: ELIS) ​​decreased in price by 1.66% to reach 16.03.

At the Paris stock exchange, the number of advancing securities (389) exceeded the number closed in the red (245), and the quotes of 98 shares remained virtually unchanged.

The volatility index VIX CAC 40, which is based on options trading indicators on the CAC 40, fell 4.61% to reach 18.63.

Meanwhile, the Forex pair EUR/USD fell 0.46% to 1.1230, and EUR/GBP fell 0.20%, reaching 0.8539.

The USD Index rose 0.54% to 95.19.
