French stock market closed lower; CAC 40 fell 0.78%

The French stock market closed Monday trading with a drop amid negative dynamics on the part of oil and gas and utilities sectors.

At the close of the Paris stock exchange, CAC 40 fell 0.78%, and SBF 120 index fell 0.69%.

The leaders of growth among the components of CAC 40 index were the shares of Bouygues SA (PA: BOUY), which rose 0.23 p. (0.62%), closing at 36.28. Quotes of Sodexo SA (PA: EXHO) rose 0.52 p. (0.56%), ending trading at 93.76. The papers of Klepierre (PA: LOIM) rose 0.22 p. (0.53%), closing at 41.92.

Leaders of falling were shares of ArcelorMittal SA (AS: ISPA), the price of which has fallen by 0.16 p. (3.97%), ending the session at around 3.90. Shares of Total SA (PA: TOTF) fell 1.56 p. (3.64%) to close at 41.33, and Lafargeholcim Ltd (PA: LHN) decreased in price by 0.93 p. (2.35. %) and finished trading at around 38.66.

The best performers among SBF 120 index components were the shares of Ubisoft Entertainment SA (PA: UBIP), which rose 2.05% to reach 26.890, Genfit SA (PA: GNFT), which gained 1.71% to close at the level of 27.950, as well as shares of Ingenico Group (PA: INGC), which rose 1.56%, to around 92.72.

Leaders of falling were shares of ArcelorMittal SA (AS: ISPA), which fell in price by 3.97% closing at 3.90. Shares of Total SA (PA: TOTF) lost 3.64% and finished the session at 41.33. The quotes of Etablissements Maurel et Prom SA (PA: MAUP) decreased in price by 3.13% to 3.40.

At the Paris stock exchange, the number of cheaper securities (393) exceeded the number closed in positive territory (266), and quotes of 118 shares remained virtually unchanged.

The volatility index VIX CAC 40, which is based on options trading on the CAC 40, rose 5.80% to reach 20.32.

Meanwhile EUR/USD fell 0.22% to 1.1244, and EUR/GBP rose 0.33%, reaching 0.7814.

USD Index rose 0.28% to 95.34.
