German stock market closed mixed, DAX 30 fell 0.25%

Germany's stock market closed Wednesday trading mixed due to consolidation of utilities, insurance and technology sectors and negative dynamics from food and beverages, basic resources and retail sectors.

At the close of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, DAX 30 fell 0.25%, MDAX fell 0.20%, and TecDAX rose 0.28%.

The leaders of growth among DAX 30 components were the shares of E.ON AG (DE: EONGn), which went up by 0.336 p. (4.05%), closing at 8.635. Quotes of RWE AG (DE: RWEG) rose 0.395 p. (3.58%), ending trading at 11.425. Papers of Munchener Ruck AG (DE: MUVGn) rose 1.800 p. (1.03%) to close at 177.350.

Leaders of falling were shares of BMW AG (DE: BMWG), the price of which fell 1.960 p. (2.31%), to 82.890. Shares of Continental AG (DE: CONG) fell 4.400 n. (2.14%) to close at 200.800 and HeidelbergCement AG (DE: HEIG) decreased in price by 0.940 p. (1.34%) and ended the day with 69.030.

The leaders of growth among the components of MDAX were the shares of Wacker Chemie (DE: WCHG), which rose 1.56% to reach 70.450, Leoni AG (DE: LEOGn), which gained 1.24%, to close at 30.600, and shares of Mtu Aero Engines Holding AG (DE: MTXGn), which rose 1.18%, to 85.000.

The worst performers were shares of Suedzucker Mannheim Ochsenfurt AG (DE: SZUG), down 14.31%, to 14.220. Shares of Gerry Weber International AG (DE: GWIG) lost 2.82% and ended the session at 11.220. Quotes of Aurubis AG (DE: NAFG) fell in price by 2.33% to 44.155.

The leaders of growth among the components of TecDAX index were the shares of Carl Zeiss Medi (DE: AFXG), which rose 3.71% to reach 27.935, Qiagen NV (DE: QGEN), which gained 3.52% to close at 21.330, as well as shares of Software AG (DE: SOWG), which rose 2.91%, to 26.860.

Leaders of falling were shares of Sartorius AG Vz (DE: SATG_p), down 4.16%, to 209.650. Shares of Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology AG (DE: PV) lost 2.64% and ended the session at 85.480.

On the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, the number of declining securities (363) exceeded the number closed up (322), and quotes of 42 shares remained virtually unchanged.

The Volatility Index – DAX Volatility, which is based on indicators of options trading on DAX 30, fell 1.28% to reach 26.30.

Meanwhile EUR/USD fell 0.09% to 1.0851 and EUR/GBP fell 0.11%, reaching 0.7510.

USD Index rose 0.08% to 99.10.
