Germany's stock market closed trading on Monday with growth due to the strengthening of food and beverage, construction and basic resources sectors.
At the close of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, DAX 30 rose 0.05%, MDAX rose 0.81%, and TecDAX index increased by 0.89%.
The leaders of growth among the DAX 30 components were the shares of Merck (DE: MRCG), which rose 1.790 p. (1.96%) and closed at around 93.010. Quotes of Deutsche Post AG (DE: DPWGn) rose 0.310 p. (1.21%), ending trading at 25.940. Shares of Volkswagen AG Vz (DE: VOWG_p) rose 1.110 p. (1.15%), closing at 97.460.
Leaders of falling were shares of Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE: LHAG), the price of which fell 0.305 p. (2.28%), ending the session at around 13.050. Shares of Fresenius Medical Care AG & Co (DE: FMEG) fell 0.700 p. (0.88%) to close at 78.860 and Fresenius SE Vz (DE: FREG) decreased in price by 0.510 p. (0.76%) and finished trading at around 66.910.
The leaders of growth among MDAX components were the shares of Rheinmetall (DE: RHMG), which rose 4.83% to reach 56.440, Suedzucker Mannheim Ochsenfurt AG (DE: SZUG), which gained 4.12% to close at the level of 18.690, as well as shares of Osram Licht (DE: OSRn), which rose 3.18%, ending the session at around 38.599.
Leaders of falling were shares of TUI AG (DE: TUIGn), which fell in price by 4.17%, closing at 15.410. Shares of Gerry Weber International AG (DE: GWIG) lost 1.99% and ended the session at 14.010. Quotes of Axel Springer SE (DE: SPRGn) fell in price by 1.66% to reach 51.050.
The leaders of growth among TecDAX index components, at the end of Monday trading, were the shares of Adva (DE: ADAG), which rose 4.41% to reach 10.530, Freenet AG (DE: FNTGn), which gained 3.80%, to close at 31.955, as well as shares of SMA Solar Technology AG (DE: S92G), which rose 3.37%, ending the session at around 45.645.
Leaders of falling were shares of LPKF Laser & Electronics AG (DE: LPKG), which fell in price by 5.40%, closing at 7.219. Shares of Sartorius AG Vz (DE: SATG_p) lost 1.61% and ended the session at 210.450. Quotes of Dialog Semiconductor (DE: DLGS) fell in price by 1.31% to reach 36.960.
On the Frankfurt Stock Exchange the number of advancing securities (377) exceeded the number closed in red (320), and the rates of 32 shares remained virtually unchanged.
The volatility index – DAX Volatility, which is based on indicators of DAX 30 options trading, rose 1.29% to reach 21.99, reaching a new monthly high.
Meanwhile EUR/USD fell 0.66% to 1.0702 and EUR/GBP fell 0.45%, reaching 0.7038.
