As Pundi X announced on her blog, companies have entered into a mutually beneficial relationship in developing technology for their wallets: Pundi X integrates with Samsung’s Blockchain Wallet and makes its XWallet app available for the Galaxy S10 smartphone.
What is Pundi X Open Platform?
Open Platform supports blockchain developers, digital asset issuers and businesses to freely apply and list their custom digital assets onto Pundi X’s payment ecosystem, including XWallet, XPOS, and XPASS cards.
Developers and merchants can now easily make their digital assets available to serve various offline and online payment scenarios. The Open Platform will first support ERC20 tokens and later expand to digital assets of other blockchain.
“This collaboration provides a unique opportunity to popularize blockchain technology and digital assets, reaching millions of Samsung smartphone users around the world,” the report said.
S10 users who have added XWallet to the Samsung Blockchain Wallet will be able to move cryptocurrencies between the two applications. Pundi X offers users to use the Samsung wallet to securely store cryptocurrencies “like a savings account” and transfer them to the XWallet “current account” for use in payments.
Pundi X added that because XWallet recently became available through XPOS - blockchain-based devices for points of sale developed by the company, as a result, S10 users would have more payment options. XWallet is also associated with XPASS, a Pundi X cryptocurrency card with NFC support. The company declares:
“Thus, the integration of XWallet with the Samsung Blockchain Wallet makes the Pundi X payment ecosystem accessible to a wider audience, allowing users of Samsung Galaxy smartphones to not only securely store their cryptocurrencies, but also transfer them to XWallet and spend in various stores.”
Samsung released its flagship S10 phone back in March, adding a cryptocurrency wallet with support for BTC, ETH, COSM and ENJ, as well as support for decentralized applications adapted for the phone.
