The European stock indices end the week lower despite the recent growth

At the beginning of today's trading, stock indexes in Western Europe increased. The growth of Vodafone and Air France-KLM stocks compensates for the fall of mining companies securities, according to Bloomberg.

The composite index of the largest companies in the Stoxx Europe 600 rose 0.23%, to 399.01 points. Since the beginning of the week, this indicator dropped by 1.7%.

Britain's FTSE 100 went up 0.15%, the French CAC 40 with 0.33%, the German DAX by 0.2%. The index value of the largest enterprises in the euro-zone - Dow Jones Euro Stoxx 50 rose 0.24%.

On Friday, the company Markit Economics released a preliminary value of the composite index of purchasing managers (PMI) of 19 Eurozone countries for July. The index fell to 53.7 points from 54.2 points in June. Experts surveyed by Bloomberg on average expected a moderate decline - to 54 points.

PMI in the manufacturing sector fell to 52.2 from 52.5, although it was not expected to change. In the service sector, the indicator fell to 53.8 points from 54.4, with a forecasted decline to 54.2 points.

In addition, investors expect data on new home sales in US for June. Analysts predict that the index rose 0.3% compared with May level, which became the highest since 2008, to 548 thousand homes based on annual rates.

Shares of British Vodafone Group (LONDON: VOD) Plc rose 3.1%. The second largest mobile operator in the world increased revenues from communication services by 0.8% in April-June, while experts predicted a growth of 0.5%.

The capitalization of Air France-KLM Group, Europe's largest airline, rose 2.6%. The company has announced plans to significantly reduce costs and reported a weaker-than-expected fall in operating profit in the current quarter.

Mining group Anglo American has increased the market value by 1.1%. The company suddenly decided to continue to pay quarterly dividends, despite the drop in earnings in the 1st half of the year by 36%.

Competitors of the company, BHP Billiton and Antofagasta (LONDON: ANTO) Plc, lost more than 1% of capitalization on a background of falling commodity prices.

Shares of German BASF SE (XETRA: BASFN) fell 3.3% on weak quarterly reporting.

The stock prices of Diageo Plc (LONDON: DGE), the world's largest producer of alcoholic beverages, decreased by 1.4% on news that the Commission on the Securities and Exchange (SEC) in the United States suspects the company with overstatement of revenue.

The price of the French Danone fell 0.8%. Yogurt maker lowered its sales forecast for the division Dumex, which produces baby food in China.
