The French stock market closed lower; CAC 40 fell 0.18%

The French stock market finished the Monday trading session lower amid the negative dynamics on the part of the consumer services, healthcare and consumer goods sectors.

At the close of the Paris stock exchange, CAC 40 fell 0.18%, and SBF 120 index fell 0.15%.

The leaders of growth among the components of the CAC 40 index were the shares of ArcelorMittal SA (AS: ISPA), which rose 0.08 p. (1.90%), closing at 4.19. The quotes of Total SA (PA: TOTF) rose 0.33 p. (0.77%), ending trading at 43.15. Technip shares (PA: TECF) rose 0.35 p. (0.76%), to 46.20.

The worst performers were the shares of Valeo SA (PA: VLOF), the price of which has fallen by 3.90 p. (2.78%), ending the session at around 136.40. Shares of Vivendi SA (PA: VIV) fell 0.22 p. (1.30%) to 16.70, and Lafargeholcim Ltd (PA: LHN) shares decreased in price by 0.49 p. (1.24. %) to 38.91.

The leaders of growth among the SBF 120 index were the shares of CGG Veritas (PA: GEPH), which rose 9.84% to 0.67, Vallourec SA (PA: VLLP), which gained 4.71% to close at 3.27 and Ipsos shares (PA: ISOS), which rose by 2.86%, ending the session at around 26.61.

Leaders of falling were shares of Eutelsat Communications SA (PA: ETL), which fell in price by 6.79%, closing at 18.45. Shares of Fonciere des Regions SA (PA: FDR) lost 3.04% and finished the session at 79.70, and the quotes of Valeo SA (PA: VLOF) decreased in price by 2.78% to reach 136.40.

At the Paris stock exchange, the number of cheapened securities (343) exceeded the number closed in positive territory (307), and the quotes of 89 shares remained virtually unchanged.

The volatility index CAC 40 VIX, which is based on options trading indicators on the CAC 40, rose 5.99% to reach 22.35.

Meanwhile, in the Forex market, EUR/USD rose 0.17% to 1.1332, and EUR/GBP fell 0.06%, reaching 0.7865.

The USD index fell 0.16% to 94.45.
