The French stock market closed Monday trading lower amid the negative dynamics on the part of public services, finance and raw materials sectors.
At the close of the Paris stock exchange, CAC 40 fell 0.52% and SBF 120 index fell 0.53%.
The leaders of growth among the CAC 40 index components were the shares of Safran SA (PA: SAF), which rose 1.56 p. (2.57%), closing at 62.35. The quotes of Valeo SA (PA: VLOF) rose 1.85 p. (1.39%), ending trading at 135.20. The shares of Bouygues SA (PA: BOUY) rose 0.39 p. (1.29%), closing at 30.62.
The worst performers were the shares of ArcelorMittal SA (AS: ISPA), the price of which has fallen by 0.24 p. (4.79%), ending the session at around 4.85. Shares of Legrand SA (PA: LEGD) fell 1.83 p. (3.62%) to close at 48.67, and Technip (PA: TECF) decreased in price by 1.44 p. (2.71%) and finished trading at around 51.65.
The leaders of growth among the SBF 120 index components were the shares of Eurofins Scientific SE (PA: EUFI), which went up by 4.55% to a mark of 330.55, Ingenico Group (PA: INGC), which gained 2.67%, to close at 98.32, and shares of Safran SA (PA: SAF), which rose 2.57%, ending the session at around 62.35.
Leaders of falling were shares of Electricite de France SA (PA: EDF), which fell in price by 11.07% to close at 10.89. Shares of Vallourec SA (PA: VLLP) lost 7.53% and finished the session at 4.30. Quotes of SES SA (PA: SESFd) decreased in price by 5.52% to reach 23.62.
At the Paris stock exchange the number of cheapened securities (366) exceeded the number closed in positive territory (292), while the quotes of 100 shares remained virtually unchanged.
The volatility index – VIX CAC 40, which is based on options trading on the CAC 40, rose 6.35% to reach 20.65.
Meanwhile, EUR/USD pair rose 0.45% to 1.1273, and EUR/GBP fell 0.12%, reaching 0.7775.
USD index fell 0.44% to 94.69.
