The French stock market was down; CAC 40 fell 1.30%

French stock market closed Monday trading with a decrease amid negative dynamics from the oil and gas, and raw materials sectors.

At the close of the Paris stock exchange, CAC 40 was down 1.30%, and SBF 120 fell 1.25%.

The leaders of growth among CAC 40 index components were the shares of Alcatel Lucent SA (PA: ALUA), which rose to 0.084 p. (2.43%) and closed at around 3544. Quotes of Valeo SA (PA: VLOF) rose 1.50 p. (1.08%), ending trading at 140.40. Shares of Accor SA (PA: ACCP) rose 0.21 p. (0.53%), closing at 39.24.

Leaders of falling were shares of Air Liquide SA (PA: AIRP), the price of which fell by 3.05 p. (2.91%), ending the session at around 101.70. Shares of Airbus Group SE (PA: AIR) fell 1.34 p. (2.12%) to close at 61.92, and Orange SA (PA: ORAN) fell in price by 0.33 p. (2, 11%) and finished trading at around 15.06.

The leaders of growth among the components of the SBF 120 index were the shares of Alcatel Lucent SA (PA: ALUA), which rose 2.43% to reach 3.544, Saft Groupe SA (PA: S1A), which gained 1.63% to close at 27.36, and shares of Etablissements Maurel et Prom SA (PA: MAUP), which rose 1.51%, ending the session at around 2.68.

Leaders of falling were shares of GTT (PA: GTT), which fell in price by 5.53%, closing at 36.79. Shares of the company Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (PA: CASP) lost 4.16% and ended the session at 42.17. Quotes of Alten (PA: LTEN) fell in price by 3.00% to reach 52.74.

At the Paris stock exchange, the number of declining securities (484) exceeded the number closed in positive territory (267), and the quotes of 58 shares remained virtually unchanged.

The Volatility Index – CAC 40 VIX, which is based on indicators of options trading on CAC 40, rose 0.14% to reach 23.12.

Gold futures for February delivery added 1.34%, or 14.30, reaching $ 1079.30 an ounce. As for other commodities, the price of WTI crude oil for February delivery fell 1.16%, or 0.42, to $ 35.64 a barrel. Brent futures for February delivery fell 1.78%, or 0.66, to $ 36.23 a barrel.

Meanwhile, EUR/USD rose 0.52% to 1.0923 and EUR/GBP rose 0.60%, reaching 0.7338.

USD Index fell 0.32% to 98.42.
