The German Stock Market finished trading on Thursday lower amid negative dynamics on the part of the telecommunications, insurance and utilities sectors.
At the close of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, DAX 30 fell 1.25%, MDAX index fell 0.73%, and TecDAX index fell 1.13%.
The leaders of growth among DAX 30 index components, were the shares of Vonovia SE (DE: VNAn), which rose 0.09 p. (0.26%), to 32.20. The quotes of RWE AG (DE: RWEG) increased by 0.030 p (0.23%), ending trading at 13.305. The shares of Deutsche Post AG (DE: DPWGn) rose 0.055 p (0.21%), closing at 26.575.
The worst performers were shares of E.ON AG (DE: EONGn), the price of which has fallen by 0.673 p. (7.17%), to 8.707. Shares of Deutsche Telekom AG (DE: DTEGn) fell 0.550 p. (3.55%) to close at 14.950, and Commerzbank AG (DE: CBKG) decreased in price by 0.230 p. (3.16%) to 7.044.
The leaders of growth among the MDAX index components were the shares of LEG Immobilien AG (DE: LEGn), which rose 1.13% to reach 82.390, while the worst performer was the shares of Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG (DE: PBBG), which fell in price by 2.90% closing at 9.81.
The leaders of growth among the TecDAX index components were the shares of Slm Solution G (DE: AM3D), which have not changed significantly (0.00%) keeping the mark of 25.20. The worst performer was Aixtron SE (DE: AIXGn), the shares of which fell in price by 4.14%, closing at 5.445.
On the Frankfurt Stock Exchange the number of cheapened securities (599) exceeded the number closed in positive territory (275), and the quotes of 23 shares remained virtually unchanged.
The volatility index – Volatility DAX, which is based on options trading on the DAX 30, rose 5.18% to reach 22.52.
Gold futures for August delivery added 0.84% reaching $ 1272.85 an ounce. As for other commodities, the price of WTI oil for July delivery fell 1.46% to $ 50.48 a barrel. Brent crude oil futures for August delivery fell 1.22% to $ 51.87 a barrel.
Meanwhile, EUR/USD fell 0.67% to 1.1319, and EUR/GBP fell 0.31%, reaching 0.7830.
USD Index rose 0.47% to 94.03.
