In the ranking of the 2000 largest companies in the world in 2015, compiled in the Forbes edition, Gazprom (MCX: GAZP), dropped from 21th to 27th place, sharing this position with the US telecom operator AT&T.
The rating appreciates the companies on a set of four indicators: profit, revenue, volume of assets and capitalization. If we look only on the annual income figure, the largest Russian company is the 8th place in the world ($ 24 billion).
In total, the ranking presents 27 companies from Russia. Compared with last year, the list now has left MMK (MCX: MAGN), (MCX: FEES) and (MCX: URKA), but for the first time entered the ranking the "Moscow Exchange" and "United Aircraft Corporation".
Rosneft (MCX: ROSN) still holds 2nd place among companies from Russia, moved from 34th to 59th place.
Sberbank (MCX: SBER) and LUKOIL (MCX: LKOH) left the first hundred of the largest companies in the world, getting down respectively from 58th to 124th position and from 83th to 109th position.
The first place in the ranking took the Chinese bank - ICBC. The next three places also went to Chinese banks - China Construction Bank, Agricultural Bank of China and Bank of China. The following positions are held by Warren Buffett's investment company Berkshire Hathaway, the US bank JPMorgan Chase and the oil company ExxonMobil.
The largest companies except from Chinese or US ones, are the Japanese car maker Toyota (11th place) and the British-Dutch Royal Dutch Shell (13th place).
The world leader considering the annual revenue became the US supermarket chain Wal-Mart Stores ($ 486 billion), exceeding with $ 50 billion the oil companies Sinopec ($ 428 billion) and Shell ($ 420 billion).
The maximum profit last year had the British telecom operator Vodafone (LONDON: VOD) ($ 77.4 billion) due to the sales of the US subsidiary Verizon Wireless for $ 130 billion. The second place is occupied by ICBC ($ 44.8 billion), and the third - Apple Inc (NASDAQ: AAPL), with $ 44.5 billion.
A record amount of assets in the last year goes for ICBC ($ 3.32 trillion) and the State Mortgage Agency US Fannie Mae ($ 3.24 trillion).
In terms of capitalization there are no rivals in the world for US Apple ($ 741.8 billion). It is double superior to the second company by market value, Google Inc (NASDAQ: GOOGL) (Google capitalization is estimated at $ 367.6 billion). The third place goes to the former leader, ExxonMobil, with the figure of $ 357.1 billion.
