At the close on the New York Stock Exchange, Dow Jones rose 0.90% reaching a month high, S&P 500 rose 0.66%, and NASDAQ Composite index rose 0.23%.
The leaders of growth among the Dow Jones index components were shares of General Electric Company (NYSE: GE), which rose 0.79 p. (2.62%), closing at 30.96. Quotes of Boeing Company (NYSE: BA) rose 3.12 p. (2.45%), ending trading at 130.70. Shares of EI du Pont de Nemours and Company (NYSE: DD) rose 1.43 p. (2.26%), closing at 64.59.
Leaders of falling were shares of Wal-Mart Stores Inc (NYSE: WMT), the price of which has fallen by 0.54 p. (0.79%), ending the session at around 67.45. Shares of Merck & Company Inc (NYSE: MRK) fell 0.41 p. (0.79%) to close at 51.53, and Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ) decreased in price by 0.67 p. (0.62%) to 106.74.
The leaders of growth among S&P 500 Index components were the shares of FedEx Corporation (NYSE: FDX), up 11.83% to 161.34, Chesapeake Energy Corporation (NYSE: CHK), which gained 9.11% , to close at 4.79, and shares of Owens-Illinois Inc (NYSE: OI), which rose 8.41%, to 16.24.
Leaders of falling were shares of Endo International PLC (NASDAQ: ENDP), down 11.44% to close at 30.03. Shares of Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc (NYSE: CMG) lost 5.75% and finished the session at 471.59. Quotes of Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE: LLY) decreased in price by 4.69% to reach 69.06.
The best performers of NASDAQ Composite were the shares of Heat Biolog (NASDAQ: HTBX), up 156.76% to reach 1.90, Vitae Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ: VTAE), which gained 65.21%, to close at 6.79, and shares of Rofin-Sinar Technologies Inc (NASDAQ: RSTI), which increased by 37.01% to 31.39.
Leaders of falling were shares of Bio Blast Pharma Ltd (NASDAQ: ORPN), which fell in price by 27.46% to close at 2.96.
On the New York Stock Exchange, the number of advancing securities (2634) exceeded the number closed in the red territory (729), and quotes of 24 shares remained virtually unchanged. On the NASDAQ stock market, the price of 1740 companies rose, 837 fell, a 59 remained at the previous close.
Meanwhile, EUR/USD rose 0.84% to 1.1319, and USD/JPY fell 1.00%, reaching 111.43.
