On Friday, the US dollar rose against most major currencies as upbeat data on inflation and the US housing sector have increased expectations of rise in interest rates this autumn.

Also on Friday, data showed that consumer prices rose 0.3% in June, while the core consumer price index rose last month by 0.2%.

The USD index, showing the American dollar against the basket of major currencies, rose on Friday night by 0.3% to 98.09, its highest level since April 23.

On Friday evening, EUR/USD fell 0.41% to 1.0831, its lowest level since May 27.

On Thursday, Eurozone ministers agreed to grant Greece a bridge loan sized 7 billion euro to keep the country's economy afloat until the final approval of financial help program.

On Friday, gold futures fell to a five-year low of $ 1129.60, while crude oil has fallen to a 14-week low at $ 50.50.

Reserve Bank of Australia will release the minutes of the last meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee, giving investors an understanding of how committee members are considering the economy and policy options.

UK is to release a report on the volume of public sector borrowing.

Wednesday, July 22

Australia is to publish data on consumer price inflation, while the head of the Australian Reserve Bank, Governor Glenn Stevens, will speak at a public engagement.

The Bank of England will release the minutes of the July meeting for defining monetary policy.

US will publish data on housing sales in the secondary market, as well as a government report on crude oil inventories.

Thursday, July 23

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand will announce interest rate decision and will publish the accompanying statement, which sets out the economic conditions and the factors that influenced the decision on monetary policy.

Japan will prepare a report on the trade balance.

Spain will release quarterly report on employment.

UK is to publish data on retail sales.

Later on Thursday, the US will report the number of Americans who applied for unemployment benefits.

Canada is to publish data on retail sales.

Friday, July 24

New Zealand will report trade data.

China will publish its manufacturing index from HSBC.

The euro zone is to release data on business activity in the private sector.

US will round up the week with reports on manufacturing activity and housing sales in the primary market.
